This winter DB Schenker is going all out for Austria’s top athletes – working on behalf of two major customers. One of them is Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF), Austria’s national broadcasting service. Just recently, the logistics service provider moved all the technical equipment for the public broadcaster to two venues for races in the Alpine Ski World Cup in the United States. Cameras, monitors, sound equipment: altogether the gear used by ORF to transmit the races from Killington und Beaver Creek live to Austria weighed about three tons.

DB Schenker also transported the equipment for the Alpine ski racers, along with that of many other athletes from the Alpine republic: as the logistics service provider working on behalf of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV). This partnership has existed for 15 years – and it has just been extended until the year 2025.

“Since we began our cooperation with the ÖSV, we have carried over 315 tons of equipment to races and training camps to just about any remote corner of the globe,” said Alexander Winter. The DB Schenker CEO for Austria and Southeast Europe considers it a hallmark “to be appointed to render active and reliable support to Austria’s top athletes in the coming years.”
