Some types of freight will raise the pulse rate even of seasoned logistics professionals. As was the case with the 60 horses which recently became the responsibility of the DB Schenker team in Hong Kong. Because, while arranging transportation for such quadrupeds may be unusual in itself, these happened to be top-ranking show-jumping horses. They were flown in from Europe on a chartered plane in order to participate in the “Longines Masters,” one of the world’s premier show-jumping tournaments.
The dedicated trade fairs and events logistics experts from DB Schenker were responsible for the ground handling of the horses: the safe transportation of the noble creatures from the airport to the event venue and back again. It was a vote of confidence in the team from DB Schenker that the organizers of the “Longines Masters” contracted the company for this assignment for the seventh time in a row.
