What volumes of freight were handled? What was the level of productivity? In logistics centers, these types of key performance indicators and other information are still displayed on conventional message boards. Digital signage working with special software does the job more quickly, more effectively and, if necessary, also more comprehensively, yet it will still be more targeted. Using automated dashboards, all content relevant to operations can be collated and displayed on clearly visible screens without any loss of time.

DB Schenker employs digital signage at its digitized warehouse for the customer Cisco in Houston in the United States. A total of five screens placed on the shop floor and in the office display content, including information about inbound and outbound operations. The primary objective is to narrow the information gap between employees and upper management in order to further improve the warehouse’s overall performance. The utilization of digital signage is part of a collaboration between DB Schenker and Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking for the internet, that has been underway for two years now.
