DB Schenker will be looking after Belgium’s top athletes at the 2020 Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo in the company’s role as official forwarder. This is the outcome of the recently extended cooperative venture between the logistics service provider and the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC). “We have chosen DB Schenker again because of the excellent cooperation in recent years,” said Rob Vanhees, the Committee’s Marketing & Partnership Manager.
“Our Olympic athletes must be able to rely on their equipment being carefully handled and delivered on time to its destination so that they can fully focus on their sporting performance.”
This was precisely what DB Schenker’s “24/7 service” made possible, Vanhees added. “We continue to think proactively and to innovate,” said Nicole Biesheuvel, Vice President Fairs, Events & Special Logistics Benelux. “The logistics landscape and the sports world are constantly changing, and we must respond immediately. This is our added value as a logistics partner.”
