DB Schenker is boosting its land transportation capacity with the integration of 75 new semi-trailers in Belgium. Gradual delivery of the first units began recently. They will be deployed in the logistics service provider’s groupage network not just in Belgium, but across the entire European continent. “The trailers are equipped with a modern tracking system which simplifies analyzing trailer usage,” said Peter Vermeiren, DB Schenker’s Fleet Coordinator in Belgium. “This allows us to improve the load factors. We can perfectly locate the trailers and improve the follow-up on our customers’ shipments.” Deployment of the trailers will take place via the international trailer supplier TIP, within the scope of a long-term leasing model.
