DB Schenker recently established a subsidiary in Bangladesh. The country in South Asia with over 160 million inhabitants is the world’s second largest exporter of apparel, second only to China. Schenker Logistics (Bangladesh) Limited is therefore intended to serve as a strategic node for customers in the textile industry. Moreover, the new entity will also focus on the follwing industry sectors: aerospace, electronics & solar semiconductors, automotive, retail & consumer, healthcare and industrial & chemical.

 

The subsidiary forms part of DB Schenker’s India cluster organization. More than 150 logistics specialists at two locations in the capital Dhaka and in the large city of Chattagram will be looking after customers. The logistics service provider had previously been represented in Bangladesh through the exclusive network partner SG Logistics (pvt) Limited (SGL).
