The population in DB Schenker’s Middle East & Africa region is about 1.4 billion. This market covers a total of 80 states. DB Schenker is represented in 40 of these countries, including those that are key in terms of global trade. In twelve of these countries the logistics service provider has established separate national companies. In addition to Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the Gulf region, there are the African countries of Angola, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa.
Across all of these countries, more than 1,600 logistics specialists serve customers from industries such as aerospace, automotive, consumer & retail, electronics, healthcare & pharmaceuticals and industrial. DB Schenker goes to great lengths to recruit the most gifted talent – for example through joint ventures and projects with tertiary institutions. In South Africa, for example, there is the DB Schenker Logistics Campus MEA, and in Egypt the company recently launched an educational program for young people starting out in logistics.
