Chief Operating Officer Ewald Kaiser explains how matters stand at the moment – and how customers benefit from the transformation into an “e-forwarder”

In a nutshell

Ewald Kaiser (56) joined the Management Board at Schenker AG in September 2014. Initially, he was responsible for the Land Transport Division and in January 2017 was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the newly created Freight division. This incorporates the European land transportation network, which operates across 38 countries, making DB Schenker the leading provider on the continent with more than 100 million shipments transported last year. It also includes the global airfreight and ocean freight divisions that are represented in around 130 countries. You can read more about the results they generated in 2017 here.

 

Prior to joining Schenker AG, Ewald Kaiser, who was born in Stuttgart, held various leading positions at well-known logistics companies for many years. From 2001 to 2006, he was Chairman of the Board of the German national company Kühne + Nagel. In 2005 he became a member of the Management Board responsible for the land transport division at Kühne + Nagel. Following this, Ewald Kaiser served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of M&M Militzer & Münch, an international provider of transport logistics services.
