Following deployment at top events like the Winter Olympics and the Asian Games in 2018, DB Schenker has gone out and secured the next set of sports partnerships. For the first one of these, the company has been chosen as “selected partner” and will therefore be the logistics supplier at the IBU World Championships Biathlon, to be held in March 2019 at Östersund in Sweden. For such a major event, it was crucial “to ally with partners that are pros in all that they do,” said the head of world championship organization, Patrik Jemteborn. “DB Schenker is a world-leading actor for these types of services and will help us exceed all expectations and make the World Championships worth its weight in gold for everyone.”
In the slightly more distant future, there will be the Winter Youth Olympics: they will be held for the third time in January 2020 in Lausanne in Switzerland. The organizers expect some 1,880 athletes from over 70 countries to take part in the competitions in 16 disciplines. What is already certain is that Schenker Schweiz AG will be the official logistics services provider appointed by the organizing committee before, during and after the Games.
