With the opening of its largest logistics center to date, DB Schenker Australia is establishing an even stronger presence in the country. The new multi-user facility in Hoxton Park near Sydney has 50,000 square meters of internal and 15,000 square meters of covered outdoor space. The warehouse is designed to handle consumer electronics and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) as well as consignments from fashion and retail customers. “We will also utilize the facility as a hub for our domestic transport network,” said Ron Koehler, CEO Australia and New Zealand.

The warehouse is equipped with automated transport sortation systems to facilitate the handling of goods. In addition, a vast array of Value-Added Services will be provided on site, including an “Advanced Technical Center” providing configuration and testing for IT devices. “Hoxton Park is a key part of our 2020 strategy to grow to 500,000 square meters in Australia and at the same time combine existing smaller sites into larger facilities to generate synergies,” said Michael Harich, Director of Contract Logistics AU/NZ. DB Schenker Australia currently has a total warehouse capacity of 330,000 square meters.
