With the backing of DB Schenker, a mother and daughter team from France successfully completed a rally through the Moroccan desert: in the “Trophée Roses des Sables,” an amateur rally exclusively for women, Karine Cordier and Cloé Barbellion came second in a field of 140 teams. Over ten racing days, the team – appropriately named “Maman, c’est encore loin?” (“Mama, do we still have far to go?”[or: “Mom, are we there yet?”] – covered more than 5,000 kilometers.

To navigate their four-wheel drive car sporting the DB Schenker logo, the two women – like all the other participants – had to make do with maps and compass. Yet this event, which has been run every year since 2001, is not just about sport: working in conjunction with the organization “Enfants du Désert,” the teams also bring aid to rural regions in Morocco, where it will benefit disadvantaged children and youths.

Just a few days before the successful conclusion to the car rally, DB Schenker in Morocco also had another reason to celebrate: the ten-year anniversary of the organization’s presence in this country in North Africa.
