Two facilities in Malaysia and Australia are enhancing DB Schenker’s robust network in the Asia Pacific region. At the same time, both of these new logistics centers serve as good examples of just how versatile DB Schenker’s warehousing solutions are when it comes to strengthening international supply chains.

The first of these facilities is the 20,000-square-meter (224,000 square feet) “Johor Logistics Center” in southern Malaysia, which is located in the direct catchment area of Singapore. The multi-user warehouse is ideally positioned to serve as a hub for cross-border shipments by truck but also for sea-to-air and air-to-sea transports. The facility is based in the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, in direct proximity to several other key international ports and airports.

The other facility, situated in Perth in Western Australia, is aimed specifically at perishables. Equipped with two chillers, a freezer and a large anteroom, it is – as Ron Koehler, CEO of DB Schenker Australia, says – designed for the transshipment of products “which deserve excellent handling to ensure they arrive in the best condition to all regions of the world.” Both the international airport and Perth’s main container port are within easy reach.
