DB Schenker now offers shippers in the United States a new time-definite and scheduled airfreight service in the key market of Australia. The “Direct Express – Australia” comprises weekly cargo flights from Chicago (ORD) to Sydney (SYD) on a Boeing 777F. The service particularly targets shippers in the automotive, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors, said Chad Heller, DB Schenker’s Chief Commercial Officer in the United States. “With speed-to-market becoming more and more critical, our new Direct Express – Australia service is well positioned to meet this need.”

The cargo plane, with a payload capacity of more than 100 tons, departs late on Monday nights, providing shippers with the option of late cut-off deliveries for their freight. The plane arrives in Sydney on Wednesday around noon, allowing goods to be forwarded to most major markets in Australia by the next day. During periods of peak demand, customers are given the option to enter into block space agreements. Temperature-controlled storage is available both in Chicago and in Sydney. The eSchenker portal guarantees shippers 100 percent visibility from pickup to delivery.
